WHAT’S IN A NAME?

During the War of 1812, while the British besieged Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, the American Navy enlisted the help of private citizens and ship owners to defend these waterways. The British saw this informal group of citizens as troublemaking “pirates,” dubbing Baltimore harbor a “nest of pirates.” Many of those proud citizens lived and walked on these very streets of Fells Point.

Today, we’ve brought that rebellious spirit to life in a modern dining experience. “Osteria Pirata,” Italian that translates to Pirate Cafe, presents classic Italian dishes, pastas, wines, and meats in a new and engaging way, helmed by a local chef who’s known for his own fiercely passionate spirit.

A NEW CONCEPT BY CHEF ASHISH ALFRED
